What is the Family Housing Program?

The Family Housing Program is a transitional supported accommodation service that provides temporary housing for up to twelve months to families with a support need relating to maintaining and sustaining a tenancy.

The program is for families who have two or more children under the age of 16 in their full-time care and require supported medium-term housing. To meet the criteria for this program, families need to be on the Department of Communities priority waitlist and be eligible for the Bond Assistance Loan.

Support Provided

A Housing Case Manager visits regularly and works alongside the family to develop a support plan that is appropriate to the family’s strengths, needs and goals. This involves the following support:

• Budgeting
• Advocacy and referral
• Building tenancy skills
• Providing links to employment, education, and training
• Transition into independent, long-term housing
• Support to link in with the community

Locations

The program has properties within the Metropolitan area all within 20kms from the Perth CBD. Most of the properties are three and four-bedroom homes, close to schools, public transport, and community facilities.

Please note, there are no properties located within the Mandurah, Rockingham, or Kwinana areas.

Please call the Family Housing Enquiry Line on (08) 9528 0735 for more information or agencies who wish to refer eligible clients can complete the referral form and email it to housing@anglicarewa.org.au.

This service operates a waitlist and during periods of high demand the waitlist may be closed to new applicants.
